If you enjoy candles and having them lit in your home, buying a quality candle made from plant based vegetable (coconut) waxes is important when it comes to your well-being. It will limit your exposure to synthetic toxins, parabens, phthalates, lead and petroleum fumes while having these candles burning around you. 

It is important to care for these high quality candles properly so that they can burn to the very best of their ability. 

  • The first time you light your candle, allow the wax to melt all the way to the sides of the vessel. Depending on the size of it, this could take 1-3 hours. This is to ensure an even burn the entire way down and prevent "tunnelling". I bet you've seen that before, now you know why.
  • Always trim your wick 1/4 prior to each lighting. This ensures a long lasting candle and minimizes soot and carbon on the end of any wick. You can use scissors or wick trimmers, however the easiest way is to simply pinch the excess wick off between your fingers when it is completely cooled.
  • Optimal burn time is 2-3 hours, no more than 4. Do not use lid to extinguish, simply blow out.
  • Do not touch or move a burning candle. Place candle on a stable, heat resistant surface. Avoid fans, vents or direct air currents.
